“I am elated that President Joe Biden has picked the Honorable Judge Kentanji Brown Jackson, as the U.S. Supreme Court nominee to fill Justice Stephen Breyer’s vacancy upon his retirement.  Judge Brown is a U.S. Circuit Judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, if confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s highest court in its 232-year history.   Judge Brown is a former federal defender, and will bring a perspective that could fundamentally influence how the U.S. Constitution is interpreted and ensure EQUAL JUSTICE under the law.  Thank you, President Biden, this is what REAL CHANGE looks like.”
